Hi! I am Angela. After getting a Degree in Biomedical Engineer in the Technical University of Madrid (that’s where I am from!), I came to Barcelona to complete my education by studying a MSc in Biomedical Engineering in UB/UPC… and somehow I ended up staying here (I blame the constant good weather and the proximity to the sea). I have been working in B2SLab since then, mainly involved in the application of machine and statistical learning techniques for biomedical data mining.
Currently I am pursuing a PhD by trying to improve in silico drug discovery techniques through Machine and Deep Learning methods. Specifically, I study how different data preprocessing and validation strategies affect downstream models and performance estimates.
