The Best Paper Award Certificate of BIOINFORMATICS 2017 went to the paper titled Protein Disorder Prediction using Information Theory Measures on the Distribution of the Dihedral Torsion Angles from Ramachandran Plots, by Jonny A. Uribe of the Department of Systems Engineering and Computer Science of the Universidad de Antioquia (Colombia) in collaboration with the B2SLab.
The 8th International Conference on Bioinformatics Models, Methods and Algorithms, took place from 21 to 23 of February in Porto, Portugal. BIOINFORMATICS is part of BIOSTEC, the 10th International Joint Conference on Biomedical Engineering Systems and Technologies, which is composed of five co-located conferences, each specialized in a different knowledge area.
The purpose of the International Conference on Bioinformatics Models, Methods and Algorithms is to bring together researchers and practitioners interested in the application of computational systems, algorithmic concepts and information technologies to address challenging problems in Biomedical research with a particular focus on the emerging problems in Bioinformatics and computational biology. There are two awards each year: Best Student Paper Award and Best Paper Award.
